Cuero ISD is seeking an energetic, highly qualified Assistant Director for the 2024-2025 school year. The music program has 6th - 12th grade students and great administrative support. Applicants must possess excellent classroom management skills, function as a part of the campus fine arts department with other instructors. The Director is responsible for auditioning students and ensuring that they participate successfully in UIL/TMEA contests throughout the year. 

 

 

To develop in each student an appreciation of the art of music as part of general culture; to teach techniques of choral music expression; to discover and develop the talents of students in the field of choral music; to develop knowledge and skills in listening to choral music and in reading and performing choral music.  Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.  Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
   
Education/Certification:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Texas Teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned. (Alternative Certification Program-attach copy of your letter of acceptance/Statement of Eligibility)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Knowledge of state and UIL policies
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
  • At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
